DAY 19

I lost my shit today. I've been working very hard to keep my shit together. For my sake as well as the people who count on me to have my shit together. Someone was pestering me, incessantly. About something that said person wanted badly. The request was totally unreasonable, but this person was not persuaded and had a hissy fit while storming out of my room. I followed and started to say something and all I heard for the umpteenth time is "but I want it." My voice rose many decibels and I said "We all want something! I want to not be stuck in the house! I want to go and see my new grand-baby! Acting like a spoiled brat is not going to get us any of those things!" I stormed back to my room. I do realize that I was kind of acting like a spoiled brat at the time. After a few minutes I went back and apologized for yelling. Said person also apologized and we went and had breakfast. I am not beating myself up for this. We are all under a lot of stress and we are bound to lose it once in a while.

We went for a drive to deliver some face masks and to look for bears and hearts. We saw a few houses with hearts, and one bear. The best was our dear neighbor across the street, she has E.T. in her front door holding a heart! I texted her - E.T. phone home. It reminded me that Miss Nine has never seen the movie so we watched the movie after dinner.

Scholastic had a very interesting story about a pirate ship, the Whydah, that sunk off the coast of Massachusetts in 1717.

The site was salvaged in the 1980s and the artifacts are in the Whydah Pirate Museum on Cape Cod. Miss Nine kept insisting that pirates are not real. I guess she thinks that they are only characters in a Disney movie. She looked up pirates on the internet, but I'm not sure that she quite believes it yet.

Whenever I chop vegetables I throw the scraps into a ziploc bag and put them in the freezer. I was trying to reorganize my freezer and realized that I had three full bags of vegetable scraps. I threw them in the crock pot with some water and made vegetable broth. Tomorrow I will make soup.

Stay safe and healthy everyone. And keep your shit together.
